Wander

Wander is App that helps you see all your online and offline events in one place.

Events where we can connect, learn, and make new friends. Friends and new experiences keep us company through the difficulties of our lives and help us grow.

For the Wander App's first release, I focused on online events and helped the participants be more engaged and excited about them.

Wander logotype and brand colors.

The Challenge:

Online events still feel a little distant

Participating in events can be stressful and awkward

It is hard to predict if the event will be worth the time

On average, 20% of people who say they’re going end up attending events

Business Goals

Increase the conversion of accepted invites to event attendees.

My Role

Lead UX and UI Designer

Hypotheses

Users may not be getting effective communication about upcoming events.

I began the project by gathering the data and statistics what the pain points of event participants. To get more insights, I asked three avid events attendees their frustrations and critical factors that help them pick an event.

David

If I 10 minutes late, I will skip the whole event.

I rely only on the host reputation.

Olga

It is always not enough information about the event.

Artem

Wireframes

Based on the Secondary research and user feedback, I came up with the first iteration of wireframes.

Low-fidelity prototype

After testing the low-fidelity prototype with three participants, I found more pain points and ways to improve the experience.

Participants want to feel their impact on the event, connection, and dialog.

Participants want to chat with all event's attenders and create groups with friends only.

Participants want to see all the online events inside the app.

High-fidelity
prototype

I addressed the feedback from low-fidelity testing and continued to develop the look and feel of the app. I used branding Wander colors. The colors reflect the feelings of excitement, anticipation, and connection when we meet like-people.

Feedback

Overall, participants didn't have any major problems with the prototype and really enjoyed the design.

I integrated minor adjustments and proceeded to the final touches.

Next Release

For the next release, I would add the opportunity to watch the past online events and discuss them with friends in private chats.

The Future

To be able to see and participate in any call, webinar, or meeting from Wander.
